So, this photo (or one similar) has been floating around social media for a while now. Its been shared thousands of times by thousands of hopeful brides-to-be, but I feel like there's something missing here. Not something from the list, but the true magic of an engagement should not be lost in all the hype built up before your partner pops the question.
Some of these points are traditional, such as asking permission or a parent's blessing before dropping down on one knee. Some, more of a recent trend like hiring a photographer to capture the event. But, when all is said and done, are you really going to care about whether they said your full name, or made sure your nails looked flawless? Probably not.
If any or all of these six "requirements" are more important to you than spending your life with the one you love, then maybe an adjustment to your priorities is in order. The only rule to a perfect proposal is being absolutely, 100% certain that the person asking you is the one you want to fall asleep and wake up next to for the rest of your life. That's all.
